What Agent Forja is

What is Agent Forja?
Agent Forja is an AI shopping assistant for online stores — and it works for restaurants and support desks too. You paste your store's address (or upload your files), shape the agent by chatting with a builder — no code, no prompt to write — and put it on your site as a chat widget or share its link. It helps shoppers find the right product from your own catalogue, with photos and prices, answers what stops them buying from your own pages, and hands the conversation to you when a person is needed.
Is it a chatbot, an AI agent or live-chat software?
An AI agent: it reads your business and answers customers on its own — it searches your catalogue, shows products, and calls in a person when one is needed. It isn't live-chat software for a team of support staff: there's no shared team inbox. When a person is needed, you answer by email or from the dashboard.
Who makes Agent Forja?
Agent Forja is built by a team of developers working on applied AI. The team started work on it on 19 April 2025 and ships improvements regularly. You can reach us at support@agentforja.com.
Is Agent Forja the same as Forja CLI or forjabots.com?
No. Forja CLI (forjabots.com) is a different product from a different company. Agent Forja (agentforja.com) has no command-line tool and doesn't run on WhatsApp or Telegram (Instagram and Facebook Messenger direct messages are coming soon): it's an AI shopping assistant that lives on your own store's website, as a chat widget, and on a link you can share.
Which AI does it use?
Your agent answers visitors with OpenAI's GPT-5 mini, chosen for fast, low-cost replies, and searches your products and documents with OpenAI embeddings so it understands meaning, not just keywords. The builder that interviews you runs on Anthropic's Claude. The AI providers process text under their API terms and don't train on it.

Who it's for

Who is Agent Forja for?
Small businesses that answer the same customer questions every day and don't have a developer or a support team: online shops — on Shopify, WooCommerce or any other platform — restaurants, tutors, service businesses and support desks.
Who is it not for?
It isn't the right tool if you need chat on WhatsApp (Instagram and Messenger direct messages are coming soon); order lookups or changes ("Where's my order?") — not yet; a live-chat inbox for a team of support agents; or bookings and payments taken inside the chat. And if you're on Shopify and Shopify's free Inbox app already does what you need, keep it.
Does it work if my store isn't on Shopify?
Yes. Shopify and WooCommerce stores are read directly through their public product feeds. Any other store is read by its web address: Agent Forja finds the product pages, including the product details your pages publish for search engines, and reads sites built with JavaScript in a real browser. You can also upload a CSV product list or connect a read-only PostgreSQL or MySQL database.
Does it work for restaurants, support desks or tutors?
Yes. There are starting points for e-commerce, restaurants, customer support and tutors, or you describe your own. A restaurant agent answers menu, opening-hours and allergen questions from your menu and pages; a support agent answers from your help pages and documents; a tutor gives hints step by step instead of handing over the answer.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. You build the agent by chatting with it, from your phone if you like. There is no prompt to write and nothing to install except a one-line widget snippet if you want the chat on your own site.
Can I build it from my phone?
Yes. The builder is designed for phones first: you can create, test and publish an agent from your phone.
Does it speak my customers' language?
Shop agents are built to reply in the customer's own language, even when your catalogue is written in another one: the agent searches your products with the matching words and answers in the language the customer wrote in.

What it does

What can it answer?
Whatever your pages, products and documents cover: products, prices, sizes and colours, shipping, returns, opening hours, menus, policies, how-tos. It answers from your business's own information, not from the internet.
What does it learn from?
Your website (Shopify and WooCommerce stores are read directly), files you upload — CSV product lists, PDFs, menus, policies — and, if you have one, a read-only database connection.
Does it recommend products?
Yes. A shopper asks in their own words — "a warm jacket under $100" — and gets real products from your catalogue as cards with a photo, the price and a link to the product page. It doesn't offer what can't be bought right now.
Can customers buy from the chat?
For Shopify and WooCommerce stores, yes: Buy now lets the shopper pick a size or colour in the chat and go straight to your store's cart with it, then pay on your normal checkout. The agent itself never takes payment. For other stores, each product card links to its product page.
Does it increase sales?
It can. It helps shoppers find the right product: it understands what they're looking for in their own words, shows matching products with photos and prices, answers the questions that stop people buying — shipping, returns, sizes — and sends them to the product page or straight to your cart. How much it adds depends on how you use it: where you put it and how many shoppers see it.
Will it make up prices or promise things we don't offer?
It's built not to. It answers only from your data, and every price, percentage, time and other number in a reply is checked against your data before the visitor sees it. If a number can't be confirmed, that sentence is held back, the visitor is told the team will confirm that detail, and the chat is passed to you. It can't give discounts or create coupon codes.
What happens when it doesn't know?
It never invents one. It answers from your own pages and products — the exact answer, or the closest real thing it has — and when something needs a person it hands the conversation to your team while it keeps helping. You answer by email or from your dashboard, and your reply appears in their chat.
Can a customer talk to a real person?
Yes. When a visitor asks for a person, the chat is flagged in your dashboard and, once you've set a team email, emailed to you. You answer from your inbox or the dashboard and your reply appears in their chat; the agent keeps helping with their other questions in the meantime. Write #done on its own line in an email reply to hand the chat back to the agent.
What do I see as the owner?
Every conversation, searchable; Reply by email or from the dashboard; Questions to answer; A self-test score; Shopper taps. Your reply to a customer, from email or the dashboard, appears in their chat.
How does it stay up to date when my prices change?
Every night it reads your store again — products, prices, sizes and key pages — and you can press Sync after a big change. An uploaded file stays as it is until you upload a new one.
Can I control what it says?
Yes. The builder asks how it should sound and what it should leave to you, and writes the agent's instructions; you can edit them by hand, tell the builder what to change, and add answers to the questions it couldn't answer. Changes are live straight away.
Can I stop other websites from using my widget?
Yes. On the Share screen you can list the websites allowed to show your widget; any other site is blocked.
Can it answer "Where's my order?" or change an order?
Not yet. It has no access to your orders, so it can't look one up, change an address or cancel — those chats are handed to you, and you answer them by email or from the dashboard.
Can it answer questions about returns, shipping and sizes?
Yes — from your own policy and help pages, and size questions from your products' sizes and your size information.
Can it take bookings, orders or payments?
No. It points people to your booking or ordering page, or hands them to you. Shoppers pay on your own checkout.
Does it work on WhatsApp or Instagram?
Instagram and Facebook Messenger are coming soon: you connect your account or Page, and your agent answers direct messages with the same knowledge it uses on your site. WhatsApp isn't supported. Today it's text chat on your website, as a widget, and on a link you can share anywhere — in emails, order confirmations or your social profiles.
Does it answer at night and at weekends?
Yes. It answers at any hour, and anything that needs a person waits for you in the dashboard.

Setting it up

How do I set it up?
Create a free account, paste your website address or pick a starting point, answer the builder's questions, try it in the Preview tab, and publish. You get a link to share and a one-line embed code for your site.
How long does it take?
Usually a few minutes. A shop's catalogue typically imports in two to five minutes, depending on its size.
Do I need to install an app or create an API key?
No. Shopify and WooCommerce stores are read through their public product feeds, so there's no app to install and no API key to create.
Do I need my own OpenAI key?
No. The AI is included in every plan — you don't need an OpenAI, Anthropic or any other API key.
How do I add it to my website?
Paste one line of embed code into your website, just before </body>. It works on any website that lets you add code to its pages — Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress or a custom-built store. Prefer not to touch code? On Shopify we can do it for you: in your Shopify admin go to Settings → Users and permissions → Add staff, enter support@agentforja.com and give access to Online Store → Themes only. We add the code and email you when it's live, and you can remove our access any time.
Does it work with Wix, Squarespace or Webflow?
Yes, if your site builder lets you add custom code to your pages — most do, though some only on paid plans. Paste the embed code there. If yours doesn't, share the agent's link instead.
Can I upload files?
Yes: product lists as CSV, TSV, JSON or plain text, and documents as PDF, TXT or Markdown — menus, policies, manuals, FAQs. A PDF needs real text in it (a scanned photo of a page can't be read), and Excel files need exporting to CSV first.

Price and value

How much does it cost?
Free to start: one agent and 20 chats a month. Starter is $49/month for 100 chats, Pro $99/month for 250; paying yearly gets two months free. Short chats (under 3 replies) are free. Payments by Paddle, cancel any time.
Is there a free plan? Do I need a card?
Yes, there's a free plan: 1 agent and 20 chats a month, with no card needed. It doesn't run out after a trial period.
What counts as a chat?
A chat counts only once the agent has given 3 replies, so a "hi" or one quick question is free. A long chat counts once more at its 16th reply and stops at 30 replies. Only the agent's replies count — never the visitor's messages, and never the owner's own building and testing. A chat also ends after 30 minutes of silence; a message after that starts a new one.
What happens when I use up the month's chats?
Chats already under way can finish. New chats are politely asked to come back later until the month resets, and you get one email so you can move up a plan if you want your agents to keep answering.
Can I pay monthly or yearly?
Either. Paid plans can be billed monthly, or yearly with two months free: Starter $490 a year, Pro $990 a year. You can switch from the billing screen.
Can I cancel?
Any time, from the billing screen. The plan runs to the end of what you've paid for, then the account moves to Free — your agents and their data stay. On a yearly plan you can also get back the months you haven't started yet; see the refund policy.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Any first payment, monthly or yearly, is refunded in full if you ask within 14 days. A cancelled yearly plan gets back the months you haven't started yet, at one twelfth of the yearly price each, until 10 months have passed. Email support@agentforja.com — the full policy is at agentforja.com/refunds.
Which plan do I need?
Go by real conversations, not visitors. Free: up to 20 counted chats a month — enough to try it on a real site. Starter: up to 100 a month and 3 agents. Pro: up to 250 a month and 5 agents, with priority support. Short chats don't count, so these go further than they look, and you can change plan at any time.
Is it worth $49 a month?
Do the sum with your own numbers. Starter works out at about 49 cents per counted chat, and short chats are free on top. Compare that with the time you or your staff spend answering the same questions, and with the questions that go unanswered at night. If you only get a handful of questions a month, the Free plan may be all you need — try it there first.
Who takes the payment?
Paddle, our merchant of record. They handle cards, invoices, tax for your country and refunds. Prices shown are before any tax Paddle adds at checkout.

Compared with others

What makes Agent Forja different?
It reads any website by its address, not just Shopify; short chats are free and only real conversations count; it checks every number before a customer sees it; you answer customers by email or from the dashboard; it tells you what it couldn't answer and how accurate it is; and you build it by chatting, in minutes, with the AI included in the price.
Agent Forja or Tidio?
Tidio is an established live-chat and helpdesk tool with a team inbox and Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp and email. Its AI agent, Lyro, is an add-on — from $32.50 a month for 50 AI conversations on top of a Tidio plan, per tidio.com/pricing on 11 October 2026 — and a conversation counts once Lyro has replied. Agent Forja is AI-first: the AI is included in the price, short chats (1–2 replies) are free, besides Shopify and WooCommerce it can read a store from its web address with no product feed, and it checks numbers so it doesn't make up prices. Choose Tidio for a team inbox and social channels; choose Agent Forja for an AI agent that knows your store. Full comparison: agentforja.com/compare/tidio.
Agent Forja or Shopify Inbox?
Shopify Inbox is Shopify's own free chat app; its AI learns from your catalogue, policies and store content, and it works only on Shopify stores. If you're on Shopify and Inbox does what you need, keep it. Agent Forja works on any website, shows you the questions it couldn't answer and a self-test score, and checks numbers before it answers. Full comparison: agentforja.com/compare/shopify-inbox.
Can't I just use ChatGPT?
ChatGPT doesn't know your live catalogue, prices or policies, isn't your shop's assistant on your own website, and can't hand a customer to you. Agent Forja reads your store again every night, answers only from your own data, shows your real products, and passes a chat to you when a person is needed.

Trust and your data

Is my data safe?
Your data is stored encrypted at rest with Cloudflare, passwords are stored hashed, and a database connection is read-only with its connection string encrypted. Details are in the privacy policy at agentforja.com/privacy.
Is my data used to train AI?
No. Your content is used to run your agents and is never sold. The AI providers (Anthropic and OpenAI) receive only the text needed to answer, and process it under their API terms without training on it.
Where is my data stored?
With Cloudflare, encrypted at rest.
Do my customers have to give their email?
No. Visitors are never asked for personal details; a random id in their browser keeps their chat going.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. Deleting an agent deletes its data and conversations. To close your account and delete everything, email support@agentforja.com.

Proof

Can I see it working?
Yes. The chat on agentforja.com is itself an Agent Forja agent — ask it anything. Or build your own on the free plan and test it in the Preview tab before anyone sees it.
How accurate is it?
You can check before customers see it. Each agent can run a self-test: questions are written from your own pages, the agent answers them, and each answer is graded — "answered 27 of 30 correctly" — with what it got wrong, so you can fix the gaps.
Who uses it? Are there reviews?
Agent Forja is new, and we don't publish customer reviews yet. The best way to judge it is to try it free on your own website.

Help

How do I get help?
Email support@agentforja.com and a person from the team answers. Pro plans get priority support.
